Melanie Crouch Bio

Melanie has owned and ridden horses since the age of 11 when the first pony arrived on the family farm.  Coming from generations of English & Irish farming families horses were in her blood. Riding on a small Irish donkey at the age of 5 is an early memory.

Having competed in show jumping, eventing  & dressage, marriage & the arrival of a young family meant the herd expanded in all ways to include pony club, carriage driving and western show disciplines.

Following a stint  working in the medical field for a number of years Melanie started her own successful equestrian publication and a road to journalism.  Following the sale of the business in 2010 Melanie decided to develop a range of specialist equestrian skin care products that really helped her horses and didn’t just sit on the shelf gathering dust.  

Great Horse Products was born in 2012 with the launch of the Oil2Horse Mineral oil.  The success in Europe of this product amongst owners of show & feathered cobs, native ponies, show jumpers and driving ponies led to the development of the other products seen in the range today.  All manufactured to exacting standards and with a view to keep horses healthy & happy.

​The products are now used by members of the Royal Household, Top Newmarket race-horse trainers, International Show Jumpers & Dressage riders, Three  Day Event riders and tens of  thousands of horse & pony owners in the UK.
